What Health Systems Ask
About EnsureCare?
Answers to frequently asked questions from care teams on using our agentic AI platform to close care gaps, streamline EHR workflows, and ensure care adherence.
General
What EnsureCare solves and how it differs from reminders.
What problem does EnsureCare solve?
EnsureCare reduces patient no-shows by fixing the coordination gap that causes them, not just reminding patients an appointment exists. Most missed appointments happen because of a logistical barrier, not because the patient does not want care, and generic reminders do not address that barrier.
How is EnsureCare different from a standard appointment reminder system?
Standard reminder tools send the same message to every patient regardless of risk. EnsureCare predicts which patients are actually at risk of no-showing, diagnoses the specific barrier behind that risk, and tailors outreach to resolve it, whether that’s arranging transportation, offering a telehealth option, or addressing a cost concern.
Integrations
How EnsureCare connects to your EHR and fits your workflow.
What EHRs does EnsureCare integrate with?
EnsureCare integrates with major EHR systems such as Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner), athenahealth, MEDITECH, eClinicalWorks, and more. If you are not seeing your EHR, please reach out to us.
Does implementing EnsureCare require changing our existing workflow?
No. EnsureCare is designed to work inside the EHR systems care teams already use, so staff do not need a separate tool or training to use it.
Platform
CAIR, data security, and implementation.
What does CAIR stand for?
CAIR stands for Care Adherence Intelligence & Recovery, EnsureCare’s underlying system for predicting and preventing missed care. Cary is the patient-facing AI agent built on top of CAIR.
Is patient data secure with EnsureCare?
EnsureCare implements healthcare-grade security standards. EnsureCare is HIPAA compliant, and SOC 2 compliance is underway. Encryption, role-based access control, and data minimization practices protect sensitive information such as PHI and PII in line with HIPAA requirements.
How long does implementation take?
EnsureCare is deployed in days, and the impact can be seen in weeks. Our engineers collaborate with your IT and compliance teams to establish secure connectivity. Your staff keeps using their familiar workflows without additional software or training.
AI agents
Cary, the patient-facing agent, and how it works.
What is Cary
?
Cary is an AI care coordination agent that predicts which patients are likely to miss appointments and automatically intervenes. The agent identifies the real reason a patient’s appointment is at risk and intervenes by personalized outreach to resolve the barrier, such as arranging a non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) ride for a transportation barrier. Cary
works inside a health system’s existing EHR, so care teams and staff do not have to learn a new tool.
Is Cary
a chatbot?
No. Cary is an autonomous agent that predicts risk and takes action. It does not wait for a patient to initiate a conversation. Traditional chatbots are reactive. Cary
identifies at-risk patients proactively and runs the outreach itself.
How does Cary
predict no-show risk?
Cary uses the patient’s chart and appointment history in the EHR, along with known risk factors, to score each upcoming appointment for no-show likelihood. Cary
automatically routes high-risk appointments into personalized outreach before the appointment date.
What barriers can Cary
identify?
Cary identifies the most common drivers of missed care: transportation access, childcare conflicts, cost or insurance concerns, and language barriers. It matches the outreach and resources offered to the specific barrier detected for that patient.
Does Cary
support non-English speaking patients?
Yes. Cary supports 20+ languages and communicates with patients in their preferred language, so language is never the reason a patient misses care.
What happens after Cary
flags a patient as high-risk?
Cary automatically sends personalized outreach addressing the specific barrier it identified, such as ride coordination or a payment plan option, and ensures the barrier is resolved for the patient to make it to an appointment. Cary
knows when to escalate to care teams and lets care teams see the outcome in their existing workflow without extra manual follow-up.
